A Quick Q&A With the Unsung Heroes Up Front

Chris Tennant
Clay-Battelle
Gamebreaker: What is the one thing you like most about being a lineman?
Chris Tennant: “I think it’s the most important job on the field. Without a line the skill positions couldn’t get it done by themselves.”

Gamebreaker: Who is the toughest player you’ve had to face in your career, and what makes him so tough?
Chris Tennant: “Cory Hunt (Hundred). He was athletic and you could tell he had a lot of heart. He knew his role and he did it well.”

Gamebreaker: What other position do you wish you could play? Why?
Chris Tennant: “Probably Linebacker. I like the contact and that position allows for a better chance of big contact. Also because there are the possibilities for interceptions.”

Gamebreaker: Which opponent has the toughest crowd to play in front of? What makes it so tough?
Chris Tennant: “I would say Notre Dame in Clarksburg. Their crowd really gets into the game. Their fans mirror our fans in a lot of ways.”

Gamebreaker: If you could host a talk show, who would be your first guest and why?
Chris Tennant: “Jerome Bettis. Talking to him would be interesting because he accomplished what very few players have ever accomplished – he won the Super Bowl in his hometown.”

Gamebreaker: What are your plans after high school?
Chris Tennant: “I’d like to go to college and study medicine and possibly play football.”

Gamebreaker: Finish this sentence: Forty years from now my classmates will remember me as a guy who. . . .
Chris Tennant: “made things fun.”

Gamebreaker: Who is the toughest player you’ve had to face in your career, and what makes him so tough?
Scott Fields: “Max Anderson (MHS) was a tough, hard-nosed player who just never seemed to quit.”

Gamebreaker: What other position do you wish you could play? Why?
Scott Fields: “I’d like to experience playing fullback so that I could carry the ball some.”

Gamebreaker: Which opponent has the toughest crowd to play in front of? What makes it so tough?
Scott Fields: "Parkersburg South because their stadium is packed and they have a lot of school spirit.”

Gamebreaker: If you could host a talk show, who would be your first guest and why?
Scott Fields: “I would interview Vince Lombardi because in my opinion he was one of the greatest coaches in the game.”

Gamebreaker: What are your plans after high school?
Scott Fields: “I plan on attending college and majoring in education. I wouldn’t mind also having a coaching career.”

Gamebreaker: Finish this sentence: Forty years from now my classmates will remember me as a guy who. . . .
Scott Fields: “Never quit no matter what the circumstances were.”
