Kyle Allard
Fairmont Senior
A week after getting shut down and upset by RCB in the 2006 opener, quarterback Kyle Allard led a highly-touted Fairmont Senior squad against North Marion that was eager to prove they were in fact Polar Bears – not Paper Lions.

That was quickly made apparent as Allard and the FSHS offense literally sprinted to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. On the night Allard returned to the explosive form and versatility that area defenses grew to fear a year ago.

Though the senior signal caller connected on 14-of-25 attempts for 247 yards and a pair of scoring passes, the most prolific highlight of his performance was not made with his arm but with his legs in the first period. On a play that those in attendance will be relating for years to come in barber shops and on porch swings throughout Marion County, Allard took the snap on the Polar Bears’ own three yard line and swept right…Sensing that the defense had overflowed and had him hemmed in, the athletic Allard cut back across the grain and outran the North Marion defense to complete a dynamic 97-yard touchdown play. .

All told, the FSHS signal caller racked up 118 rushing yards to finish with 365 yards of total offense and three scores. For his incredible performance in Fairmont Senior’s 40-13 victory, Kyle Allard is THEGAMEBREAKER.NET’s second Player of the Week in 2006.
